illegals have been a thing in the south for a long long time. it's hot as shit down here in the summer and nobody wants to willingly work outside. but they're mowing your yard or roofing a house on a day with 90% humidity.

here's gulfport ms, second largest city in the state. pop ~72000. since it resides on the gulf coast, there's almost always ~70% humidty in the summer. "summer" is from end end of may to about the end of august. maybe mid september, during hurricane season.

that's when it's time to trade-out workers. or hire a construction/roofing crew because their house got fucked up. depends on a lot of things.

if you've never ~really~ experienced high humidity when it's already hot as shit, it's like walking into a sauna or the jungle or the bathroom right after someone took a hot shower. it's invasive and everywhere. walking from the front door to the mailbox and back makes the avg person sweat. you don't leave your air conditioned icebox unless forced to. absolutely not working in the sun.

that's a somewhat normal, tolerable temp for an illegal who was raised near the equator, which most of mexico and south america already.

i mention all of this because mid to upper-class, average democrat joe asshole. he really, really hasn't experienced much very real-life shit and doesn't have the time to deal with the plebs. he absolutely does not want to mow his yard, or hire a roofer that can't do it in one day, or wait nine months on a home in one of those cookie-cutter neighborhoods (tract housing).. he ain't doing all that because he's not poor.

so he throws money at the problem and hires a cheap roofing/mowing crew.

there's a mid to high chance everyone in the crew, except the owner, is illegal and doesn't speak english at all, or they're mostly illegal and one maybe two can speak some english. then, when they are proficient in english, they're taken somewhere else to do something. very likely start the process over.

joe asshole doesn't care; says "well, they are hard working and i get a good deal.. so.."

skip into the future until right about now.

let's say he gets sideswiped by an illegal; a drunk driver. who, by chance, is caught by the cops down the road somewhere. joe asshole changes his position from "all are welcome" to "some are welcome, but not here. not in my back yard." no sir.

joe asshole has been affected. directly.

his position changes rapidly. but he cannot say anything without judgement from his peers. so he does not speak and does nothing. votes for the same shit - like he's always done - for people to talk a big game, but never deliver. he is now feeling the overall effects.

skip to a small-ass town, or a gigantic city, in the mid-west or north-east. chartered busload after busload of illegals have been dumped on their front door. occupants from all over the fucking world.

it's now a huge problem. affecting a lot of people not accustomed to it. still, they do nothing.

they plead for the govt to help, but there's a high change the govt knows and doesn't care. so the govt does nothing.

also, you're distracted by the newest brainrot or capeshit or thing on the news. it's not affecting you. yet.

the us/mexico border is just a paper towel under a waterfall. the problem is too big to stop the flow. it's not gonna stop any time soon.

boomers are easy. most of them had a harsh life and worked their asses off, hopefully instilling some order to their children. but most gen-x children were not given guidance and had to figure it out. sometimes hard lessons were learned from first-hand knowledge and/or experience. turns out what they were told (or not told) was very wrong from someone who didn't know shit about shit.

some boomers kids expect to be taken care of when they are in dire straits. true to a degree. everyone deserves a little help. expecting help or a handout is where boomers draw the line.

PC Case

After highlighting my "displeasure" with my previous case almost cooking my mobo, I went on the quest of finding a case. Fuck, I thought cases were getting fake and gay a decade ago but now they are... Not as bad honestly. Seems a lot of the really bad trends are done and gone with. The only thing left seems to be tempered glass and rgb lighting. Which I don't have any and all problems with.

I'm a klutz by nature so giving me anything glass is HEHEHEHheHEHEhHEHE not good. The rgb lighting is more of a "keeps me awake at night" old man complaint since my main pc right by my bed.

I decided to go with the LIAN LI LANCOOL 216 X Black Steel / Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Computer Case ,2x 16 cm PWM Fans Included (Non RGB ) ----LANCOOL 216X which I can or can not promise you is an affiliate link.

I'm honestly quite pleased with how case design has been going to the last time I looked for case that either wasn't

A. Complete shit design using high quality parts

or

B. Low quality metal looking to rip your skin a part but a has decent design look

Cutting The Ditch

Being that I live in rural setting on a main busy road where the posted speed limit is 80km but people go 100km (60mph) like it's nothing, I always look on with dismay when I have to cut the ditch.

Why? Today while I was cutting the ditch and looking both ways to make sure no cars were aiming for my old man ass, it actually happened.

Some stupid stereotypical Karen giving a mid 2010 chevy truck decide to lay on the horn and aim her truck at me by going on the shoulder while I was facing the other way cutting the ditch from east to west. The outter tire missed me by less than a foot and I actually couldn't see for a brief time because the dirt and rock from the shoulder came flying up into my face and eyes.

She stopped her truck a good 30 yards down from me, got out and started ranting and raving at me until she noticed I wasn't the person who she thought I was... I honestly mean I say that "Nothing ever surprises me anymore." and that statement still holds true.

I told her just go away and if she wanted trouble, I have camera's all over the lot filming (12 cameras) at all times because of people like her. She got back in the truck and took off without a word spoken.

We have a community watch program here where you can report drivers for doing gay stuff and the police 100% follow up on those reports. Needless to say, I filed a report directly at the cop shop before writing this, kek.

1. It's hard work when you solo, regardless.
2. You are at the mercy of the weather.
3. Dealing with tarps is dangerous stuff.
4. You look at hot weather in a new way after being on a black roof during it.
5. While tarps are dangerous, they are your life saver, so treat them well.
6. Having to repair the decking (wood underneath it's nailed to) is very time consuming and can leave you mentally drained.

3. You, without any help from the fakers have accomplished the job others have said that you were nuts for doing.
4. You know your work is good and don't have to worry if Pablo and son took your money and ran.

In the end, I prob saved a good $5000 - $7000 in doing the job myself. This doesn't even include clean up which would be another $2000 for renting a bin. I spent $500 total in taking the trailer to the dump and using a rake to push a yard or so of heavy shingles out each run.

Renting a bin means I'm on a time schedule of a week to get it all done which LOL ROLCOPPERSDFLKS:LDKSL:K~ wasn't going to work out this year since I had a lot of repairs to make and the sheer amount of rain we have gotten means I had to wait.

What Would I Do Differently Next Time?

I would buy a nailing gun instead of hammering it all down by hand. The job would be faster and less wear on my arm joints, which are still recovering.
