installed on a Samsung 65" Class Crystal UHD DU7200D (amazon)
this is a colossal pain in the ass and absolutely not for Regular Joe Asshole. i went into it blind/having read one or two tutorials. i was using win powershell, run as admin.
used a mixture of this tutorial from github and the official one (manual compile). i found i didn't neeeeeeeed to manually compile/build. your mileage will vary.
[prereqs - all]
• samsung account (free)
• TV in developer mode
- go into apps settings
- hit the 123 button on the remote (or long press home if the remote doesn't have it)
- enter "12345" and ok
- turn on developer mode
- enter local network IP address of host pc (cmd > ipconfig > [IPv4 Address])
- ok
- turn off tv (hold power button for 2 seconds)
- turn back on
[prereqs - windows]
• tizen studio with IDE
• VC 2013 redist
[optional - for manual compile]
• GIT
• node.js
[process]
• put TV into developer mode (above)
• install and run tizen studio (i installed at the default location on c:)
(example)
• open/run "Tizen Package Manager"
add:
- Extension SDK > Samsung Certificate Extension
- Main SDK > Tizen SDK Tools > Baseline SDK > Certificate Manager
• let it update and install the tools
• open/run "Tizen Device Manager"
• if it gives you any shit about being disconnected, click this:
- note the DUID for certificate creation and TV SERIAL # (edit: model identifier; i ain't changing the pics)
• permit to install applications (maybe not needed, but i did it anyway)
• keep the device manager open
• open/run "Tizen Certificate Manager"
- create samsung certificate
- name it whatever (PROFILE_NAME) !! important !!
- give it an author (you) and password
- click through everything
- create a distributor cert
- enter the DUID from above if it hasn't populated
- finish cert creation
- it will save the .p12 certs (author.p12 and distributor.p12) in some odd place, make note of them
• keep the cert manager open
• download a pre-compiled jellyfin.wgt - i used the default "jellyfin.wgt"
- if you download anything other than the default, rename it to "jellyfin.wgt"
• copy the created .p12 certs from above and "jellyfin.wgt" into "c:\tizen-studio\tools\ide\bin\"
• run powershell as admin
• (powershell) run scripts unrestricted - i'm sure there's another more secure way, but i am extremely lazy
- Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted !! important - only do this temporarily !!
• (powershell)
- cd c:\tizen-studio\tools\ide\bin
• (powershell) re-sign the build so the certificate matches your TV DUID
- c:\tizen-studio\tools\ide\bin\tizen.bat package --type wgt --sign PROFILE_NAME -- c:\tizen-studio\tools\ide\bin\jellyfin.wgt
NOTE: the package MUST be signed by the certificate you made earlier (PROFILE_NAME), else you'll get the following on deployment:
install failed[118, -12], reason: Check certificate error : :Invalid signature. Signed with wrong key, changed signature file or changed package file.
• (powershell) deploy to TV
- c:\tizen-studio\tools\ide\bin\tizen.bat install -n c:\tizen-studio\tools\ide\bin\jellyfin.wgt -t YOUR_TV_SERIAL
• (powershell) reset to default
- Set-ExecutionPolicy Default !! important - change after completion !!
if everything goes well, the JF app should appear in the apps list
congrats, you did the thing. connect to your JF server and login like normal.
NOTE: it looks like the certs are valid for one (1) year; you may have re-sign the cert/redeploy at a later date.
the jellyfin-tizen devs are making progress to get it onto the official Samsung app store.
